The Havern
Autism Program
For more than 50 years, Havern School has been a trusted leader in educating students with diverse learning needs. Recognizing the need for specialized support for students with level 1 and level 2 autism spectrum disorder (ASD), we developed the Havern Autism Program (HAP)—a dedicated, evidence-based program designed to meet their unique academic and behavioral needs.
As of 2025, HAP is proud to be an Approved Facility School through the Colorado Department of Education (CDE).
Rooted in Colorado Academic Standards and Havern’s Interdisciplinary Intervention Model, HAP offers an individualized curriculum based on each student’s IEP. Students receive direct instruction in Reading, Writing, Communicating (English Language Arts), Mathematics, and Science/Social Studies—academic areas essential for developing skills and confidence for future transitions to larger learning environments.
Through HAP, autistic students gain the tools and strategies they need to thrive—in school, at home, and in the community.

Referral Process
If you are working with a student who has been identified by their school district as needing a separate school placement and believe the Havern Autism Program (HAP) may be a good fit, please contact Robyn, Director of the Havern Autism Program.
Please note: HAP can only accept referrals directly from school districts. We are not able to accept referrals from families, caregivers, or outside professionals. If you are a parent or guardian seeking placement for your child, please reach out to your child’s current school to begin the referral process.
While HAP operates on the same campus and under the same mission as Havern School, it is not accredited by the Association of Colorado Independent Schools (ACIS) like our broader Havern School program.
