    Roles and responsibilities:

    This is a permanent, full time position charged with maintaining our campus, buildings and systems, and keeping them running and looking their best.Specifically, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Monitor condition of landscape and grounds, performing routine pruning, cleanup, and overall upkeep.

    • Ensure all grounds equipment and machines are in good repair

    • Act as liaison with vendors for janitorial services, mowing, tree care, irrigation, pest control and chemical treatments

    • Assist teachers and staff with logistical issues as assigned

    • Maintain sidewalks and parking lot in safe condition during winter, using motorized and manual equipment, and salt/sand as necessary

    • Non-specialized skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, finishing, painting and other basic maintenance fields will be necessary

    • Manage time effectively 

    • Respond to work order assignments in timely manner

    • Ability to be trained to contribute to the security posture of the school, and to be versed in emergency response as identified in the employee handbook.

    • Ability to become versed in techniques for safely handling hazardous materials such as bodily fluids and chemicals.

    • Receive training in our asbestos management plan, and respond appropriately.

    • Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

    • Member of the Administrative Team and the Emergency Response Team

    Education and Experience:

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

    • Project professionalism to our community at large

    • Four years experience in maintenance or property management a must

    • Experience in a variety of trades preferred

    • Familiarity with computer and software applications for general business and maintenance.

    Starting Salary: $22 an hour. Salary is negotiable based on experience and/or additional qualifications.

    Job Title: Building Substitute Teacher             

    Department: Program          

    Supervisor’s Title: Head of School      

    Employee Classification:  Exempt 

    This position is for a permanent floating substitute teacher in multi-grade classrooms at Havern School, serving students with neurodiverse profiles. We follow a self-contained model, with the teachers responsible for teaching all subject areas (reading, writing, math, science, and social studies). This position is for the remainder of this school year with the potential to return to the building substitute teacher position or another position for the 2025-2026 school year. When not subbing, other administrative tasks may be assigned. This is a full-time position with general hours being 7:45 AM - 3:15 PM. The salary ranges from $35,000 to $45,000 annually, based on experience and hours.

    Roles and responsibilities:

    • Deliver instruction per teacher lesson plan to students, following the directions and guidelines of the lead teacher.

    • Flexibility and willingness to move between classrooms where needed throughout the day and the week.  

    • Help create a positive classroom environment where students are engaged, challenged at their individual level, and supported (both emotionally and academically).

    • Develop suitable curricula, lessons, materials, and effective teaching methods based on the assessments of students’ needs.

    • Understand students’ needs and adjust instruction accordingly.

    • Deliver differentiated, data-driven instruction across all subject areas.

    • Supervise students at recess and lunch.

    • Support essential classrooms as needed (art, drama, technology).

    • Develop a respectful, positive, and caring rapport with students.

    • Maintain a positive attitude toward work with colleagues, families, and students.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in an Education-related field

    • Experience working with diverse student populations

    • 3-5 years experience in an independent school setting, preferred

    • Orton Gillingham or similar training, preferred

    • Basic comfort and skill with Google Suite and Google Classroom 

    • Demonstrated ability to communicate, solve problems, and maintain effective relationships with all members of the school community

    • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information

    HAP has a classroom teacher position open for a new specialty day school program. We serve autistic students in multi-grade classrooms that span kindergarten through 5th grade. We follow a self-contained intervention model, with the teachers responsible for teaching all subject areas (reading, writing, math, science, and social studies). Differentiated instruction is delivered in a small group format.  


    Responsibilities:

    • Plan, deliver, and amend instructional programs as necessary

    • Work closely with behaviorists and other colleagues to ensure continuity within the grade level and from grade-to-grade

    • Build students’ confidence and self-esteem as you come to know them as learners and individuals

    • Maintain a classroom that is orderly, organized and equipped to meet the needs of the program and students, and presents a professional appearance to the community

    • Communicate with families via conferences, phone conversations, emails and teacher blogs

    • Maintain student notes, anecdotal records, observations, work samples, and any appropriate assessments

    • Complete student progress reports three times annually: November, March, and June

    • Assume full responsibility for organizing, scheduling and leading parent-teacher-student conferences at a minimum of three times annually

    • Document reports, discipline, student health and other professional correspondence as appropriate

    • Attend regular faculty meetings and other team or school-wide meetings as needed

    • Take advantage of professional development opportunities and remain current on educational research and best practices

    • Engage in self-assessment and work towards professional goals and professional growth

    • Play an active role in the admissions process through classroom visits, observations, and events

    • Participate fully in the life of the school by contributing to and attending school events, supporting advancement/development efforts, and being a representative of the school

    • Promote enrollment for the school internally and externally

    • Support the school and its leadership

    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications and Competencies:

    • Bachelor’s degree in special education, Master’s degree preferred

    • Active Special Education Colorado Teacher License required

    • Specific training and experience in the area of autism spectrum disorder

    • The ability to work collaboratively with other service providers so as to implement learning and behavior plans with fidelity.

    • Sensitivity to intellectual, physical, and emotional needs of students

    • Excellent verbal, written communication skills and strong organizational and management skills

    • Experience in curriculum development, collaborative planning and team teaching

    Salary Range: $50,000-$60,000.  This is a full-time EXEMPT position. Salary is negotiable based on experience and/or additional qualifications.
