Support Havern
Neurodiverse children need an environment like ours to thrive—small-group learning, expert guidance and individual attention. Like all independent schools, we depend on financial support from parents, alumni, foundations and corporations, and other friends in our community.
Your support helps us continue our mission of helping children become confident learners with the skills they need to succeed. We count on your support to supplement general operations, to build our scholarship fund, for underwriting major improvements such as new playground equipment—and much more.

Thanks to Colorado’s Tax Credit!
When you donate $250 or more, you can benefit from a 50% Colorado Child Care Contribution Credit, which is a state income tax credit.
*For illustrative purposes only, assuming a 32% tax bracket. Actual tax savings may vary. Federal income tax deduction benefits those who itemize deductions on their federal tax return. Those opting for the standard deduction will not benefit from this on their federal taxes. However, they may still be eligible for a 50% tax credit on their Colorado state income tax. Annual Giving
Your gift to the Annual Fund makes an immediate, and virtually limitless, impact on our school community. Gifts to the Annual Fund help close the gap between tuition and the actual cost to educate a Havern student. Your financial support will have a direct and immediate impact on all aspects of our community: the academic program, therapeutic services, arts, financial aid, professional development and our building, and the surrounding 13-acre campus. Additionally, annual funds provide the flexibility to respond quickly to new opportunities and unexpected needs.
There are a number of ways to make a gift to Havern School:
Gifts of appreciated securities held by the donor for more than one year provide two tax benefits: (1) no capital gains tax is imposed on the “long-term” appreciated gift portion, and (2) the donor is entitled to a charitable deduction equal to the fair market value of the securities on the gift date.
A gift of real estate such as commercial property, a residence, a farm, timberland or undeveloped acreage can provide significant benefits to Havern and to the donor. A gift of unmortgaged real estate held for more than one year will generate an income tax deduction based on fair market property value at the gift date. The donor is not required to recognize any gain on the transfer to Havern School. For gifts of real estate valued at $5,000 or more, the donor must obtain a qualified appraisal.
A bequest is a gift to Havern School under the donor’s will. It may be made for the general purposes of Havern School or restricted for a specific use. A bequest to Havern School is entitled to a federal estate tax charitable deduction, so it will not be subject to tax in your estate.
To ensure maximum benefit for the donor and for Havern School, we advise that you speak with your attorney or tax advisor and our Director of Development, when considering planned giving options.
