At Havern, we understand that finding the right educational environment for neurodiverse students can be challenging. Often, families discover that traditional schools may not fully support their child’s unique needs after the school year has already begun. That’s why we offer rolling admissions, allowing us to welcome new students throughout the year. Our dedicated team is committed to providing the individualized support and resources your child needs to thrive, ensuring a seamless transition and continued growth in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Alumni Success Stories

Marvin

Marvin was a member of the very first class at Havern School, attending Kindergarten during the 1966-1967 school year. His family relocated to Arizona at the end of that year, but he reports that his time at Havern resulted in significant developmental and academic progress. Marvin says, "I owe my life to the fact that I was able to attend Havern and those incredibly dedicated Sisters/staff that worked there at the time! The fact that I was able to overcome my disabilities has taught me that with God's (and a lot of caring and dedicated humans too!) help, we can overcome anything and live our dreams."

Marvin is currently living his dream. After graduating from Penn State with a degree in Earth Sciences, Marvin pursued his lifelong interest in the weather by serving as an aviation weather forecaster for the United States Air Force. He currently lives in Arizona with his wife and three children, two of whom have special needs, and has his dream job working at the National Weather Service. As Marvin said, "I have been so blessed to have been able to live my dream!"

Sabrina

Sabrina attended Havern School for 6th and 7th grade and says that her time at Havern continues to benefit her. Sabrina says, “Before Havern, I had a very difficult time with learning at a public school due to not being taught the proper skills I needed to help with my dyslexia, comprehension/retaining information while reading, as well as math skills. My confidence was also being affected negatively and I didn’t have the desire to go to school anymore.”

Sabrina credits Havern’s teachers with helping her develop hope and confidence within herself. “Finding a program like Havern that worked around unique children like myself opened the door for me to LOVE school again and have academic success in the future.” After leaving Havern, Sabrina graduated from ThunderRidge High School with a 3.8 GPA. She then attended Brigham Young University on a full-ride scholarship to play Division 1 soccer. She graduated from BYU in 2019 with a major in Exercise and Wellness and a minor in Gerontology. Sabrina says that she continued to use the skills she learned at Havern in college and was awarded All-Academic Regional Team Academic Honors in 2018 and 2019.

Sabrina currently lives in Kentucky with her husband and 1-year old son. She coaches soccer part-time and loves being a mother to her son. Sabrina says, “I cannot emphasize enough how grateful and blessed I was to attend Havern school. Thank you Havern for everything!”
