How Havern Made a Difference for Our Family

Havern has truly transformed our lives. Before our child started kindergarten there, we learned of a rare genetic syndrome causing developmental delays. At that time, we weren’t sure what school would look like, but we knew one thing for sure—we wanted our child to be happy. Now, three years later, we couldn’t be more grateful for Havern. Watching her grow academically and socially has been incredible. She is reading, learning math, exploring science and computers, and, most importantly, she is genuinely excited to go to school each day. The commute is an hour each way, but it’s been worth every mile.

Our child faces challenges with fine and gross motor skills, speech, proprioception, balance, and sensory processing, especially auditory processing. Havern provides occupational and speech therapy as part of the school day, along with key accommodations. The teachers have always focused on her unique growth and progress rather than comparing her to neurotypical peers.

One of our favorite memories is seeing her shine on stage as a chick in a school play. The pride and joy on her face were unforgettable! Reflecting on our journey, I believe if we hadn’t started with Havern in kindergarten, we would have found our way here eventually. I’m so grateful they had the chance to lay a strong foundation early on.

To other families considering Havern, I’d say this: seeing your child happy and excited to learn is worth all the effort and expense.
